Introduction

Anthropics Technology Ltd is the London-based creator of FaceStore, a pioneering visual messaging technology which feeds today’s growing demand for innovative applications for mobile communications.

Anthropics work with Mobile Network Operators, Content Providers and VoiceMail System Providers to enhance the consumer messaging experience, offering an MMS application that not only increases revenues by providing consumers with a fun and compelling service but also provides a competitive advantage, driving uptake of new services and attracting new users.

Our story

In 1997 the National Film and Television School, the United Kingdom's premier media education institution, founded CREATEC with the mission to 'invent the future for digital media'.

In 1998 part of this research was spun out into Anthropics Technology Limited, and was initially funded by leading UK angel investors, with a view to commercially exploit the award winning research. It closed a £5.7m first round in August 2001, led by Quester VCT (a UK venture capital firm) and included Skandia Media Invest (a VC unit of Skandia), one of Sweden's largest conglomerates, and also Sky Ventures (a Swedish venture house partially owned by Skandia).
