Andrew Berend - Chief Executive Officer
Andrew Berend
was educated at Oxford University and the UK National Film and Television
School, and has since enjoyed a very successful career in technology
media. In 1990, Andrew co-founded Cambridge Animation, which rapidly
became the world's leading supplier of cartoon animation software.
Hollywood studios such as Warner Bros. and DreamWorks are among
Cambridge Animation's clients. While at Cambridge Animation, Andrew,
in conjunction with Mark Williams and others, was responsible for
a number of key patented innovations in computer graphics and computer
assisted cartoon product. On leaving Cambridge Animation in 1996,
Andrew Berend has served as the founding director of the National
Film and Television School's CREATEC Digital Media Laboratory where
he was responsible for overseeing the cutting edge research that
led to the development of the FaceStore technology. |

Mark Williams - Senior Vice President, Engineering
and CTO
After graduating
from Southampton University in 1985 with a 1st Class (Honours) degree
in Electronics, Mark became a Research Scientist at Philips Research
Labs where he investigated applications for real time 3D graphics
systems. Mark was described in his reference from his supervisor,
Simon Turner, at Philips as 'the best researcher scientist he ever
had the privilege of employing'. In 1988, Mark was head-hunted from
Philips to became a Senior Software Engineer at Spaceward Research,
designing and developing 3D animation and rendering tools. From
1990 to 1997, Mark served as the Head of Software for Cambridge
Animation; in this capacity, he architected the 2D-cartoon animation
tools that formed the basis of the business. Mark, in conjunction
with Andrew Berend, was responsible for a number of key developments
in cartoon animation software for which many patents were successfully
obtained. Before joining Anthropics, Mark was CTO of CREATEC. |
