In 1997, the National Film and Television School, the United Kingdom's premier media education institute, founded CREATEC - a research and development division with a mission to 'invent the future for the UK's digital media'. Three years later, the researchers at CREATEC, as well as its intellectual property were transferred into Anthropics which was initially funded by UK angel investors. After that, Anthropics received VC funding from a number of sources. Anthropics is now a 'standalone' profitable fast-growing company.
Our research and development has always been in digital human representation and animation, and over the past 10 years we have developed world-leading expertise in this area. Initially, we mined our knowledge base to develop animation software for mobile communications. This animation software was taken up by Nokia, Vodafone, and other large mobile communication companies.
More recently, due to the commercial success of Portrait Professional, our research and development has concentrated primarily on this intelligent beautification software. Portrait Professional is powerful yet fast and easy photo enhancing software. It enables even novice users to achieve high-end results in minutes.
