PortraitPro 27: the fastest PortraitPro yet

PortraitPro 27 is rebuilt on a new AI engine, so the work it does on every face takes far less time. It also brings a redesigned workspace that keeps every tool within easy reach.

Dramatically faster

The AI models that find faces, build the skin and hair masks and remove noise now run on a new, much faster engine:

  • Faster face detection, especially in half-length, full-length and group photos.
  • Skin and hair masks built using your graphics card on Windows, and skin, hair and background masks built with Apple's Core ML on Mac.
  • Quicker rendering of your enhancements.

GPU acceleration built in

On Windows, every edition of PortraitPro now uses your graphics card automatically. There is no separate GPU version to download or install, and if your computer has no suitable graphics card PortraitPro simply uses the processor instead.

Redesigned workspace

  • A new tools strip puts Touch Up, Restore, the masks, Crop, Clone, Remove Noise, Replace Sky, Art Effects and the Lighting Brush in one place, and shows which tool is active.
  • Toolbar buttons for the Before and After views replace the old tabs, leaving more room for your photo.
  • Every editing mode is left in the same way.
  • Slider values and toolbar button labels are shown from the start.
  • Clearer, easier-to-read text in the dark style.

Faster group photos

A new faces strip shows every face in the photo while you adjust it, so you can see which face you are working on and switch to another in one click. Switching is much faster too, because faces you have not changed are not processed again.

Smarter noise removal

Remove Noise now chooses the best denoiser for your photo, depending on whether it is a camera JPEG, a RAW file developed in another program or a RAW file opened in PortraitPro. On Windows it runs on your graphics card, so even large photos are denoised much faster.

Easier profile faces

When a face is in profile (side on), PortraitPro now makes it clear how to mark it up yourself, so you are never left at a dead end.

Clearer help with RAW files (Studio and Studio Max)

If a RAW file, such as a Canon CR3, needs the free Adobe DNG Converter, PortraitPro now tells you so and explains what to do.

More reliable batch mode (Studio Max only)

Many improvements make batch processing more dependable, including saved batch sessions that reopen correctly.
